Roofing Continued

Hi Friends.  I stopped by the house on Friday and took a few pics.  It was fun catching Ron up on the roof.

One more section to finish with plywood and then the shingles can go on.

Inside view under a section of the roof.

The part that is finished.  We're nearing the completion of roofing, and that's exciting.  Doors and windows will be next, before siding goes up.

Thanks for stopping by.

house trusses

Hi Friends!  I made a little video for you of bird song in southern Indiana.   Just kidding.  You can actually hear the birds quite nicely, but the video that I hereby present, that was made for your viewing pleasure, is of a crane lifting trusses into place on top of the house.  I'm telling you, it's superb footage, no doubt Academy Award winning stuff.

Now wasn't that worth watching all the way to the end?  Especially because of the background music?  Seriously though, it is exciting, and you can see how fast things are going now that the trusses are on too.

Covered front porch area.

I hope you enjoyed the blog.  Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Friends!  We got a start on the roof.  So exciting.  Can't wait until it's up and done.

You definitely need a crane for this sort of thing.

All was going well when I stopped by at 9, but within a half an hour the lightning and thunder got going.  We have to wait and try again tomorrow.  But, it looks fantastic!

Stop by again.  Love ya!

Roof Trusses Arrive!

Hi Friends.  My goodness it's taken a long time for the roof trusses to arrive, but here they are!  And, what's more, tomorrow they're going up.  We're pumped.

Ron decides to check on the backing up procedures.

He's thinking we may need to purchase a new mailbox for the neighbors.

But, thankfully, the driver knew just what to do, and sure enough the load was delivered and dumped off without hit any trees or mailboxes.  Yay.

"That's a lot of wood, Honey!  I think you have your work cut out for you.  I'll be standing by with cold drinks and sandwiches."

I think the next couple of weeks will make a big difference in the house.  We'll have trusses up, then the plywood, and finally shingles.  Should be fun.  So, thanks for waiting patiently, and checking often.  Hopefully we'll keep the photos coming again.

Love ya all!  See you soon.
